This is Apothic Inferno. A red blend aged in bourbon whiskey barrels for 60 days. Nose carries maple syrup, brown sugar, and fresh berries. First taste brings a huge punch of smoke that mellows into heavy raspberry jam and caramel, and finishes with toasted oak and baking spices.
Aside from that, I am at a loss for words! On paper, it sounds pretty awesome… and even in taste, I enjoy it. For some reason the fusion of bourbon and wine makes my head spin a bit. Definetly worth a try (and maybe in a wine glass… #hurricanematthew)
