Elmer T. Lee in the house! This bourbon is one of the many fantastic offerings from the Buffalo Trace Distillery. While Elmer T. Lee, one of the past master distillers, sadly has passed on, they still select this single barrel release once a year. The 2016 choice won a gold this year. w00t!
Syrupy oranges, some Christmas spice, and bready notes on the nose. The taste brings some darker flavored that I really wasn’t expecting, but lead into one of the most beautiful finishes I’ve tasted recently! A little drop of water also unlocks some new flavors. Way to go team!
